What is a resettable fuse?
Date:2026-02-25 Views:

  Resettable Fuse Introduction

A resettable fuse is an electronic component designed for overcurrent protection. Unlike conventional fuses that require replacement after a fault occurs, it can automatically reset once the fault is removed with no manual operation needed.

Its formal technical name is Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) thermistor, and its working principle can be deduced directly from the nomenclature. It is manufactured by mixing conductive particulate fillers into high-molecular organic polymers, followed by molding under high temperature, high pressure and vulcanization, then finishing via special processing technologies. It is primarily deployed for overcurrent and short-circuit protection to secure electronic products against damage.
